Frost
is excited about the recent addition of a Kazakhstan program! Our partners
in Kazakhstan are dedicated, experienced professionals who understand
the importance of finding stable, loving families for the children in
orphanages.
Requirements/Eligibility
- Kazakhstan is open to
married couples, with a minimum age of 25 for both parents, and a maximum
age of 52 for mothers and 55 for fathers.
- Single mothers may adopt
one child at a time.
Available Children
Boys and girls ranging in ages six months to 10 years are available for
adoption. The health and development of children
in the Baby Homes is evaluated on a regular basis. The staffs include
therapists and medical specialists. There is a small “child to staff”
ratio, as they understand the importance of consistency in caretakers
for the children’s attachment development. The children are well
cared for as Kazakhstan prides itself for its child-care programs.
Time Frame
Families
can expect to be home with their child(ren) in less than twelve months
from the time of application, pending completion and approval of the paperwork.
The time frame may vary by gender, age of child, and program selected.
The
Process
Once our liaisons register you with the proper entities in Kazakhstan,
you are issued a letter from the Guardianship Body of the town where you
will be adopting. This letter invites you to come to Kazakhstan to adopt.
Once there, you
will be shown children and allowed to select your baby/child(ren).
Kazakhstani law requires
parents to spend two weeks with their child prior to adoption. The adoption
is completed in Kazakhstan and families then exit through Moscow to complete
the Embassy paperwork.
The trip can take three to
four weeks. Your family is cared for by our liaisons while in country.
Frost helps you prepare for your trip with a list of “to do’s”
before traveling.
